RIVERSIDE -- The Orange Coast College men's golf team took on 10 other teams at the Riverside Invitational on Monday and the Pirates topped them all, shooting a team score of 363 to pace the field.
Leading the way for the Pirates was sophomore Takahito Inoue, who shot the low score of the tournament with a 2-under-par 70. Mike Stephens and Bryson Bentley were close behind with a pair of even-par 72s, while Myoung Kim came through with a 1-over 73. Showing the depth of the Pirates, Connor O'Hern (76) and Chris Casey (77) were all within striking distance of Inoue's low round of the tournament.
Cypress College shot a team score of 370 to finish second overall, while Riverside City College (373) finished third. Other team scores included Reedley College (378), Palomar (382), College of the Desert (379), Saddleback (390), Mt. San Jacinto (391), Mt. San Antonio (397), Irvine Valley (413) and Cuyamaca (431).
The Pirates will return to action on Monday at the Southern California Regional Preview, located at Bakersfield Country Club, beginning at 11 a.m.
