Pirates earn top spot at OCC Invitational
COSTA MESA -- The Orange Coast College men's swim/dive team captured first place overall at the OCC Invitational on Friday at the OCC Aquatics Pavilion.
The Pirates finished with a whopping 768 points, followed by Golden West (703), Santa Monica (306), Grossmont (287), Southwestern (179), San Diego Mesa (103) and Palomar (83).
Eight different Pirate swimmers had gold-medal performances throughout Friday's invitational in both individual and relay events, including Kevin Li, Ryan Xu, Darius Wallach, Gavin McNeal, Oscar Cruz, Brenden Bellavia, Kaua Mota and Evan Lim.

OCC's divers will next compete at the SoCal Diving Championships on Friday and Saturday at Long Beach City College, beginning at 9 a.m. Up next for the rest of the squad will be the Orange Empire Conference championship, hosted by Saddleback College, on April 17-19.
