Pirates place fourth at CSUF Invitational
FULLERTON -- The Orange Coast College women's cross country team had its final tune-up of the regular season and placed fourth overall at Cal State Fullerton's John Elders Invitational on Friday.
In a field comprised with two- and four-year programs, the Pirates' team score of 86 points was the best among all two-year programs, ahead of Riverside City College (140 points) and L.A. Harbor.
Freshman Jocelyn Alba cracked the top-10 in this quality race and finished seventh overall with a time of 22 minutes, 20.1 seconds. Teammate Alejandra Reyburn earned a top-20 spot by finishing 18th with a time of 23:15.3.
Other top OCC times were turned in by Jasmin Trujillo (23:40.8), Mariana Hernandez (24:26.8), Belle Baker (24:36.2), Isabel Ramirez (24:50.2) and Cassandra Garcia (27:43.9).
The postseason now kicks off for the Pirates as they compete at the Orange Empire Conference Championships at Saddleback College on Friday, beginning at 9 a.m.
