Pirate men take second at OEC finals

MISSION VIEJO -- The Orange Coast College men's cross country team put forth a strong effort on Friday and earned a second-place team finish at the 2025 Orange Empire Conference Cross Country Championships, hosted my Saddleback College.

Coast earned a runner-up team score of 49 points, trailing only Riverside City College, who won conference for the 8th consecutive year with 15 points. Host Saddleback finished third overall with 76 points.

Bernie Enriquez earned first-team, All-OEC honors by finishing seventh in the race, with a time of 21 minutes, 7 seconds. Second-team honors went to Bill Dang (9th, 21:11) and Jacob Fujimoto (11th, 21:28), while other top OCC times were turned in by Nathan Garcia (22:13.5), Cayden Reish (22:50.3), Peter Cao (23:32.9), and JC Overpeck (24:26.2).

The Pirates will now compete at the Southern California Regional Meet, set for Friday at NTC Park/Liberty Station in San Diego, beginning at 10 a.m.
