Pirates finish 14th at 3C2A State Meet
FRESNO -- The Orange Coast College men's cross country team wrapped up a very successful 2025 season in 14th place overall at the 3C2A Men's Cross Country State Championships on Saturday at Woodward Park.
Coast finished in a tie with Butte College with 390 team points, but won the head-to-head tiebreaker and earned the 14th spot in the standings. Cuyamaca was this year's state champion with 90 points, edging out runner-up, Mt. San Antonio's 98 points. Riverside City College finished third with 154 points.
Out of nearly 200 runners in this year's race, OCC's Bill Dang earned the Pirates' fastest time as he wrapped up is cross country career with a top-50 time of 21 minutes, 14.7 seconds, with fellow sophomore, Jacob Fujimoto, close behind with a time of 21:22.8 seconds.
Other top OCC times were turned in by Cayden Reish (21:48.3), Bernie Enriquez, (21:54.9), Nathan Garcia (22:45.2), Peter Cao (23:31.6) and JC Overpeck (24:05).
The 2025 season comes to an end for the Pirates, but not after earning a second-place spot at the Orange Empire Conference Championships, a 10th-place finish at the Southern California Regional championship and a 14th-place finish at the 3C2A State Championships.
