Pirates earn trip to State after solid Regional effort
SAN DIEGO -- The Orange Coast College men's cross country team is Fresno-bound after a 10th-place team performance at the Southern California Regional Meet on Friday at Liberty Station.
The Pirates used a pair of top-50 scores to earn 10th out of 28 schools with a team score of 288. Riverside City College took first overall with 79 points, followed by Cerritos (98) and Cuyamaca (121).
Freshman Bernie Enriquez was OCC's fastest runner for the regional, finishing 31st overall with a 4-mile time of 21 minutes, 10.74 seconds. Joining Enriquez in the top 50 was Pirate teammate Jacob Fujimoto, who placed 46th overall with a time of 21:28.35.
Other top OCC times were turned in by Bill Dang (21:59.06), Cayden Reish (22:04.63), Nathan Garcia (22:14.26), JC Overpeck (23:47.46) and Peter Cao (24:16.08).
Coast will wrap up the 2025 season at the 3C2A Cross Country State Championships, which take place on Saturday, Nov. 22 at Fresno's Woodward Park.
