Chupinsky paces Pirates at Arnie Robinson invite

SAN DIEGO -- The Orange Coast College women's track and field team competed in the 2026 Arnie Robinson Invitational on Friday at San Diego Mesa College, with the Pirates put up some impressive marks and times.

Leading the way was Pirate hurdler Ana Chupinsky, who competed in the 400-meter hurdles. The sophomore standout took on some of the top hurdlers in the state and finished third overall with a time of 1 minutes, 7.79 seconds, just behind Long Beach City College's Cody Leak (1:06.03) and Mesa's Lindsay Rhodes (1:07.7). It was a three-runner sprint to the finish for second, with Chupinsky edged out by Rhodes, but still edging out Mt. San Antonio's Cameron Reyes, who finished fourth at 1:08.18.

In the 400, OCC's Jasmin Trujillo nearly edged out Cerritos College's Nyla Nolan for third place, but settled for fourth with a time of 59.02, just .01 off of Nolan's time of 59.01.

Up next for the Pirates is the Mangrum Invitational, hosted by Cal State San Marcos, on Friday, beginning at 10 a.m.
