Russell commits to Northern Montana
COSTA MESA -- Orange Coast College women's volleyball player Hayley Russell is off to "Big Sky Country" after committing to Northern Montana University, according to Pirate head coach Chuck Cutenese.
In limited action with the Pirates in 2011, Russell posted eight kills, three digs, two solo blocks and three block assists in eight games played.
Last year, the Pirates advanced to the second round of the Southern California Regional Playoffs before falling to eventual state champion L.A. Pierce in five games.
A graduate of Palm Desert High School in 2010, Russell played two years of varsity volleyball and was named team captain as a senior. A kinesiology major at Coast, Russell would like to pursue a career as a physical therapist after her volleyball career is over.
